We Need Companies to Come not Donors

India was turned by the mass recruiters and trainers like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, Satyam and the likes. They pushed India from a third world developing country to become the second important IT Vendor and best outsourcing destination in the world.

Nepal have to declare few areas as SEZ and give tax breaks to attract them and Nepal desperately need companies like them. Entry of one or two of them can change entire Nepal. If someone in the government is hearing I would like them to be proactive and call companies to invest in Nepal. I would like to invite these revolutionary companies to invest in Nepal ....

ICICI Bank

Bharti Airtel

Infosys

Wipro

TCS

IBM

Accenture

Our economy is survived by remittances and aids for long. Now, the time has come when we turn ourselves to business than asking for donation. We need to make coming generation optimistic of their future and the country. They will need to see some development happening in Nepal. Development in the form of investment and business.

The picture is of the Infosys's Mysore Campus. I want to see one in Nepal. Is there any possibility of having it? (question to our ministers and planners, and not to Infosys head)

Good idea brother. But, why any companies go there? For what?
Dabar Nepal, and Surya Tobacco have been shut down frequently as both have Indian investments. Newspaper and Media are fighting day by day to save their freedom forget about general people's liberty.

The main thing is security. Corporate security. I am hearing some news that Indian companies are investing in Nepal's Hydro-Electric Sector. That's a good sign but Government must provide security.

These days corporates do not really care about Politics and democracy. So long as laws are implemented uniformly giving a kind of stability, n security; corporates just jump there. See the case of Kazakhstan. Every bloody state is ready to invest there in Oil and Gas.

I hope that Nepal government will be able to invite more by providing good security.

Good thoughts. I agree with you. But leaving security apart, there is a huge opportunity untapped. Many a times people need to take political risks to get better profit because where there is easy access, all go there and the resulting increase in competition leaves nothing.

I completely agree with you that Nepal govt has to ensure security. And I am much hopeful that the upcoming CA elections will bring that.

when we say corporates we are talking about investors who will enter our country with an intension of getting returns to their investment, fair enough, thats what business is all about.

Its our duty to make sure that they come and stay longer so that our people get employment, technology gets adopted and skills are learnt to the point when we can really be on our own.

It boils down to the same point " Political & Economic Stability". There are companies who are playing a game of wait & watch before they put their hands in here.

We have to plan in such a manner that investors are attracted on one hand and country benefits the maximum on the other.
